A selection of AFC Bournemouth players out on loan were in action over the course of the weekend, with Brad Smith making his debut for MLS side Seattle Sounders.

The Sounders were 2-1 winners over FC Dallas at CenturyLink Field, with goals from Chad Marshall and Nicolas Lodeiro securing the victory.

Smith started the game and would go on to impress during his 73 minutes on the field, before being withdrawn by head coach Brian Schmetzer.

A total of 39,522 spectators were present to see the Australian international’s MLS debut.

“I didn’t expect it [the attendance] to be honest,” Smith said after the game. “I was happy to play in front of them and they gave me a great reception when I came off.”

The Sounders are next in action against LA Galaxy in the MLS at CenturyLink Field next weekend.

Elsewhere, there was also a debut for Emerson Hyndman at Hibernian, with the American midfielder playing 63 minutes during Hibs’ 1-1 draw away at St Johnstone.

Mikael Ndjoli also played 65 minutes for Kilmarnock in their 0-0 draw away at Livingston.

Connor Mahoney also made his first appearance for loan club Birmingham City, coming off the bench in the Blues’ Sky Bet Championship 1-0 defeat away at Middlesbrough.

As part of the loan agreement between the two sides, Harry Arter was ineligible for Cardiff’s game at Vitality Stadium.
