Internationals: Lerma features on Friday

AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

AFC Bournemouth midfielder Jefferson Lerma won his 10th cap for Colombia in their 1-0 victory over Japan in a friendly on Friday.

Lerma, who featured in all four of Colombia’s games at last summer’s World Cup, played the full 90 minutes in the Nissan Stadium in Yokohama.

He will remain in Asia ahead of Colombia’s friendly against South Korea at the World Cup Stadium in Seoul on Tuesday.

Goalkeeper Jordan Holmes kept a clean sheet on his competitive debut for Australia in their AFC Under-23 Championship qualifier against Cambodia.

Holmes, who is currently on loan to St Mirren, played his part in a convincing 6-0 win thanks to goals from Joey Champness (2), Aiden O’Neill, Riley McGree, Brandon Wilson and Pierce Waring.

The Olyroos are bidding to reach the Olympics for the first time since 2008 and meet Chinese Taipei and South Korea in their next two qualifiers.

Callum Wilson was an unused substitute for England, who ran out comprehensive 5-0 winners against Czech Republic at Wembley.
