AFC Bournemouth Women moved into top spot of the Southern Region Women’s Football League after an 11-0 victory over New Milton Town Ladies.

Hat-tricks from Maisy Smith and Chloe Tape made for good viewing, while Terri Harvey’s double as well as goals from Hannah Bennett, Rosie Eden and Meg Vella capped off a fine afternoon.

Tape opened the scoring just 12 minutes in, after a lovely team move resulted in Smith teeing up the forward for her first of the day.

Bennett then got in on the action after controlling the ball well and finishing into the corner, Smith again being the provider.

The latter then got herself on the scoresheet for Steve Davies’ side with two quick goals, the second coming from a delightful pull-back by Vella.

Following the interval, Eden got her only goal of the afternoon, tapping home the rebound from Vella’s shot.

The midfielder then added to the tally herself, before Smith bagged for her hat-trick and Tape netted her second.

Harvey was then introduced to the field of play and had a brace for herself within ten minutes of coming on.

With moments remaining, Tape rounded off the scoring with a shot from just inside the box going in off the underside of the bar.

Following the game, manager Davies spoke to afcb.co.uk.

“It was a really good result and a strong performance,” he began.

“I’m delighted to have some of our injured players back and on the scoresheet.

“We’re now looking forward to next week’s game against Oxford.”
