FULL TIME

One to forget.

Not our best by any means of course, but a 5-1 defeat is what we have to go home with.

A goal after three minutes from Mesut Ozil set the Gunners on their way before Henrikh Mkhitaryan doubled the lead.

Lys Mousset reduced the deficit before second-half strikes from Laurent Koscielny, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette mean a defeat in the capital.

If you've been following us throughout the night, we thank you very much for your support! Win, lose or draw, you seeing the updates and listening to the commentary means a lot to us.

See you on Saturday for Manchester City!

81'

Nearly a chance for Surridge!

A high ball from Andrew Surman reaches King at the back post and he lashes a volley which ALMOST finds Surridge at the back stick!

Sokratis got across to get a toe to the ball though and divert it narrowly wide and out of the debutant's path!

80'

A positive from this second-half...

It's great to see Sam Surridge come on.

It's his first ever Premier League game, he's just come on for Ryan Fraser.

A nice moment for him to remember in his career despite the result.

78'

A free-kick from just outside the area...

Torreira was fouled on the edge of the box and Lacazette stepped up to curl it into the corner.

Not our night.

76'

GOAL for Arsenal.

Lacazette scores a free-kick. In all fairness, it's a great take - unfortunately for us.

75'

15 minutes to play...

Fair play to the fans, still chanting and getting behind the team.

But at this rate, Arsenal will probably see out the victory. It's been a weird atmosphere in this half from the home crowd, who have been pretty silent.

But their team have done the business in this second-half. Hopefully we can get a goal to at least make it a little uncomfortable for them heading into the final ten minutes.

71'

Second change for us...

Adam Smith comes off for Diego Rico.

It looks like it will be a straight swap at full-back.

It's also Rico's second Premier League appearance of 2019.

68'

Save by Leno!

King cuts inside from the left and unleashes an absolute piledriver!

The shot from outside the area swerves and dips, it's a brilliant effort but Leno tips it over!

Unlucky!

66'

Save by Boruc!

Lacazette almost scores straight after coming on.

One ball over the top releases the French striker, who doesn't make clean connection with the ball in the area.

It's still heading in though, but for Boruc to slap it away at the near post. Close.

65'

Side netting...

Alex Iwobi, on as a sub for Sead Kolasinac, got a cross at the back post, took a first time finish but it's wide into the side net.

Elsewhere, Alexandre Lacazette is coming on now for Mkhitaryan - as if to add more to their attacking flair.

60'

Well, it's going to take something unbelievable now...

It's 4-1 now to Arsenal.

Aubameyang got in behind clean through and drove at the defence with blistering pace.

He steamed into the area, took it round Boruc and placed it into an empty net.

60'

GOAL for Arsenal.

Aubameyang scores.

56'

OFF THE BAR!!!

NEARLY A WAY BACK IN IT!

Gosling drove forward with the ball and his 25-yard effort took a deflection!

It dipped and swerved and cannoned back off the cross and back to safety!

Unlucky!!

55'

First change for us...

Jordon Ibe makes way.

Charlie Faniels comes on which means a change of formation.

We've gone to five at the now with Daniels, Mepham and Ake at the heart of the defence.

54'

Nearly 4-1...

The post to the rescue.

Arsenal work it well in fairness and Ozil eventually latches onto a pass into the box.

He takes it first time and the whole stadium is expecting the net to bulge, but for the German to smash the ball against the near post.

It looked like a certain goal - phew!

51'

Trying get back in it...

50'

Save by Leno!

A quick break!

The ball is nicked back and Fraser drives at speed at the heart of the defence - he's tough to stop!

25-yards out, he curls a low one which Leno manages to catch low to his right.

Better from us, if we get the next goal soon, you never know...

47'

A deflected strike...

Arsenal pick up the seconds from a set play and cross the ball into the area.

Koscielny is still up and sidefoots an effort which cannons off Chris Mepham and completely changes direction.

It hit Boruc and crossed the line - not what we wanted at the start of the half.

46'

GOAL for Arsenal.

Well, straight away, Laurent Koscielny has scored.

46'

Back underway...

Arsenal get us going again - hopefully a big half ahead for the boys.

We'll be attacking towards our away fans, about 1800 of them getting right behind the team.

45'

HALF TIME

Well, that goal after 30 minutes has got us right back in!

I have to say, since Joshua King has shifted over to the left-hand side, that's where a lot of our good play has come from.

At 2-0 it looked like it could've been game over, but we did well to ride the wave and get back into it.

Never say never with this team! We'll see you in 15 minutes for what should be another superb half!

38'

A little stat for you...

Mousset's goal is the first ever goal we've scored from open play at the Emirates.

In the build up, I told you records were there to be broken eh!

It's also the 1000th goal Arsenal have conceded in Premier League history.

Hopefully we can arrest the losing streak here too.

37'

Yellow card for Sokratis...

These bad tackles are always on Fraser!

He skinned the Greek defender and just got completely wiped out!

Good to have their centre-back on a booking, Wee Man is OK though.

32'

First yellow card of the evening...

It's been given to King.

He went on a big run on the left after a sharp counter again from us, he got towards the area and ran into Laurent Koscielny.

I'm not sure it's a dive, but it's definitely not a penalty and referee Chris Kavanagh was quick to get the yellow card out.

Not clear cut, but no complaints.

30'

GO ON!!!

It's a mistake from Matteo Guendouzi!

Gosling pressured him into a mistake on the edge of the box and nicked it back!

With the goal gaping, he unselfishly squared it to Mousset who tapped in!

Get in! BACK IN IT!

28'

GOALLLLLLL!

LYS MOUSSET! BACK IN IT!

28'

2-0 to the Gunners...

I was literally typing out a post that said we had settled and since the formation change, we were looking dangerous.

I looked up and then saw Mesut Ozil free in the box, and the German looked set to lash in his second goal but he unselfishly squared it to Mkhitaryan who was presented a goal on a plate - burying it into the corner.

A mountain to climb now at 2-0, but if we get the next goal, you never know...

28'

GOAL for Arsenal.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan scores.

21'

He always demands more!

20'

WHAT A CHANCE!!!

FRASER!!

A great counter sees King go down the left and power past a tackle - he then threads a SUPERB ball in behind which sees Fraser go ONE ON ONE!

His shot inside the area looks perfectly placed into the bottom corner... but Bernd Leno got a hand to it!!

The rebound fell to Dan Gosling who steamed into the area but Laurent Koscielny made a brilliant block to keep it out.

Good from us! Arsenal look a little rattled by that!!

17'

Ozil's opener...

Boruc SO UNLUCKY not to keep it out!

16'

Our first attack!

Well, the new formation has instantly almost worked!

Mousset got a ball in behind on the left-hand side, before playing it to King in the area!

He couldn't get a shot away, before Fraser and Adam Smith combined, with Smith's cross nodded just over by King!

Better! Our fans are still right behind the team!

15'

We've changed formation...

Fraser has been given a piece of paper from the boss and as a result, there's been a slight shift.

Joshua King has now gone to the left-hand side, with Fraser now operating in the ten role behind Lys Mousset.

Let's hope it can make an impact!

10'

Ten minutes in...

With that opener, Arsenal have been on top here in the opening exchanges.

We're trying to stay in the game as the hosts continue to attack at will here.

Not the ideal start - but hopefully we can weather the storm soon.

04'

Not the start we wanted...

Ozil gets in behind our defence and has the entire goal to his mercy on the left-hand side.

He hits one that Boruc ALMOST saves in the area but it's parried into the net.

Ozil was left completely free and we've been punished, 1-0 to Arsenal here.

03'

GOAL for Arsenal.

Mesut Ozil scores.

01'

Almost the sloppiest of starts...

From of all people... Nathan Ake!

He undercut a backpass to Artur Boruc and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang chased to nick it but Artur Boruc smashed it clear.

A heart in mouth moment within seconds here - hopefully not a sign of things to come!!

01'

We are underway...

Ryan Fraser kicks us off - the Cherries will be attacking towards the home supporters (to the left if you were watching on TV.)

Let's go then lads! Full updates coming, stay tuned!

19:42

The Emirates is a great stadium...

...but the top tier is so empty.

You'd think it was 30 minutes to kick off, not four!

Hopefully there's still a good atmosphere in the stadium tonight, the Cherries fans are opposite us on the far side.

UP THE CHERRIES! Kick-off is moments away...

19:41

The lads are out of the tunnel!

A big night under the lights - love it!

We'll bring you all the updates on the blog, but for a better* experience, click LISTEN LIVE now for full audio commentary!

We'll be in our 'beach glass' kit (our mint one - tonight.)

*these text updates are still decent too...!

19:30

Fit for a King...

He had an eventful afternoon against Wolves, missing a penalty and scoring one, but Joshua King is a man in great form.

His surging runs from deep gave Wolves plenty of problems and we all know about his speed and strength particularly when he flies past people in deeper areas.

He's scored four goals in his last five league games and bagged against the Gunners earlier this season.

A big one hopefully tonight from the King!

19:25

The boss...

19:21

Head to head...

We've not played Arsenal a lot in our history for obvious reasons, but our Premier League run has been difficult against them.

They have won their four home meetings in all competitions by a aggregate score of 11-1.

Of course we're not expecting to be beating Arsenal every week though! Our only win in eight competitive fixtures against the Gunners came last season at Vitality Stadium.

The scorers that day? Callum Wilson and Jordon Ibe - hopefully Jordon can put in another match-winning display!

19:08

We love Steve Cook

18:54

One to watch...

We had this stat ready for Alexandre Lacazette, it's good so we're still using it despite him being on the bench!

So here goes...

He could become the first Arsenal player to score in five consecutive Premier League home matches since Robin van Persie from December 2011 to March 2012.

But we'll scrap that, so our one to watch is Mesut Ozil - he has a point to prove. Ozil started on the bench for Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Southampton on Saturday and made his second start of 2019 last week against BATE Borisov.

On his day, the playmaker is one of the best in the world and with a chip on his shoulder, we'll have to be wary.

18:45

Team news...

IS IN!

Dominic Solanke is not in the matchday squad, we'll see what that's about shortly, we think it's a thigh problem.

Elsewhere, Andrew Surman comes in for Jefferson Lerma who misses out due to suspension as we knew.

They're our only two changes to the starting XI... UP THE CHERRIES!

18:29

Pre-match interview time...

Nathan Ake is on pre-match interview duty for this game - the players have to do this as part of their Premier League media requirements.

The Dutchman is keen to put things right on the road, saying: "We’ve come here to get the points. Our away form hasn’t been the best recently but we’re going to try and resolve that tonight."

Love the attitude!

18:18

More of the same tonight hopefully from this man!

18:10

If results go our way...

We could be sitting as high as 9th in the Premier League.

We have to win tonight - which is a big ask - but we've got a positivity around the group despite the recent away performances.

If we win and West Ham lose at Man City, we'll leapfrog them and Everton into 8th.

Could be a good night for us! Up the Cherries!

18:00

45 minutes 'til team news...

Arsenal will give Alex Iwobi and Stephan Lichtsteiner late fitness tests on their ankle and back respectively, with Carl Jenkinson in line to start due to Lichtsteiner and Hector Bellerin's injuries.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles is available after missing the game with Southampton due to illness, while Laurent Koscielny could start after overcoming a minor injury in Sunday's win.

We've listed our injuries in an earlier post, but the only change we expect from Saturday's draw with Wolves is Jefferson Lerma - he's suspended.

That could all change though, with full team news at 6.45pm.

17:44

Wilson's wisdom...

We caught up with Arsenal legend Bob Wilson ahead of the game, a Gunners icon with over 300 appearances and 28 years as goalkeeping coach in the capital, tutoring the likes of David Seaman and Pat Jennings.

When asked if we could pull off a shock, he said: "Yes, of course. I remember they went to Chelsea last season and were absolutely outstanding.

"I’m a huge fan of Eddie Howe. I’ve never met him and hope I will one day. To me, he is a young Arsene Wenger and knows exactly what it takes to entertain the crowd. You need to provide entertainment in this game.

"I love the way he has always wanted to play the game which I think is similar to Arsene and I think it’s exceptional what he continues to do for AFC Bournemouth."

Well said, Bob!

17:25

As for us...

Well we've been decimated by injuries/suspension over the last few weeks, so we'll list them to remind you of who's out tonight as it stands!

- Simon Francis

- Lewis Cook

- Junior Stanislas

- Steve Cook

- Callum Wilson

- Jefferson Lerma

- David Brooks

As a result we've struggled recently on the road, conceding two or more on each of our last eight away defeats.

But as we reiterate, records are there to be broken!

17:13

What can we expect from Arsenal?

Well, at home, they're pretty formidable.

The Gunners have won their past seven consecutive Premier League home matches, which means they have the second best home record in the entire division.

Only behind Manchester City, they have 11 wins and 35 points from just 14 matches.

Unai Emery's team have also gone two years without losing a home league fixture against a team from outside the so-called 'top six' since they lost to Watford in January 2017.

Record are there to be broken I guess!

17:05
