Katie Scadding has been involved with AFC Bournemouth for seven years, representing the junior teams and helping the Cherries win the Premier League Girls’ National Cup at Wembley in her youth.

Having made the step up to the senior squads in 2017, aged just 16, she’s been a key member of Steve Cuss’ side ever since.

She played a starring role in the 2019 Chairman’s Cup final, with a string of fine saves to help the Cherries to the title and even played the closing stages with a broken wrist!

The ‘keeper has also won no fewer than three promotions with AFC Bournemouth and is now enjoying her third season in the fourth tier of women’s football, the highest her side have ever played. 

In 2022/23, she made more appearances than any other player with 25 across all competitions, the final one of those being in the Hampshire Cup final as the Cherries beat Southampton on penalties to win the competition for the first time. Scadding saved three in the shootout. 

Away from AFC Bournemouth, she has been seen sporting the England jersey, getting involved with beach soccer and travelling to the likes of Spain and Portugal with teammates Molly Clark and Katie James. 

The former Dorset shot-stopper is also currently a member of staff with the Community Sports Trust, coaching hundreds of children and adults each week. Following the conclusion of the 2021/22 season, she was named the PFA Community Champion for her contributions at AFC Bournemouth.
