Steve Cuss

Position:
Manager
Date of birth:
28th September 1970
Nationality:
English

Steve Cuss has been the head of community at AFC Bournemouth since 2002, and took on the role as manager of the women’s team for the first time ahead of the 2019/20 season.

A UEFA licensed coach, with previous experience at Torquay United, he stepped into the role alongside running the Community Sports Trust, which puts on a variety of weekly coaching sessions across the local communities of Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and Brockenhurst.

Cuss has also previously worked within the AFC Bournemouth academy and youth team, as well as with local clubs playing semi-professional football.

During his first campaign as manager of the women’s team, he helped the side to top spot of the Southern Region Women’s Premier League before the season was forced to stop due to Covid-19.

As the league was curtailed again across 2020/21, the Cherries saw their application of upward movement successful in the May and, as a result, went into step four for the first time under Cuss' guidance last season.

The side did themselves proud in their maiden National League season, finishing second and losing just twice, while also reaching the second round proper of the FA Cup for the first time in history.

Last year, Cuss led the side to silverware once again, winning the Hampshire Senior Cup for the first time in the club’s history after beating Southampton on penalties.
