Comfortable at centre-back or left-back, Tyrone Mings has shown plenty of promise at Premier League level but has had bad luck with injuries since signing for the Cherries in June 2015.

The defender began his footballing journey in the Southampton youth academy but was released for being too small, so made the switch to Bristol Rovers academy in 2009.

After playing senior football for Yate Town and Chippenham Town, Ipswich Town signed the defender in 2012, with Mings going on to make 57 appearances for the Portman Road club.

Mings impressed in his final season at Ipswich and after helping his side finish in the Championship Play-Off spots, speculation turned towards his future, with Mings deciding to join the Cherries in June 2015.

The defender made his debut in the 4-0 win over Hartlepool in the League Cup and made his Premier League bow later that week in the 1-1 draw at home to Leicester City, which unfortunately lasted just six minutes as suffering a knee injury which ruled him out for the rest of the season.

After a gruelling rehabilitation schedule, Mings showed great character and perseverance to return from the injury and made his return appearance in September 2016 in the 3-2 defeat to Preston North End in the EFL Cup third round.

Mings went on to become a regular between January and March, but just as the defender was starting a run of games, he was banned following an incident with Zlatan Ibrahimovic against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The 2017/18 season started with Mings again getting chances in the starting 11, but a back injury soon forced him to the sidelines once again, Mings not returning until May when he made two comeback appearances to round off the campaign on a positive note.

In January 2019, he joined Aston Villa on loan for the rest of 2018/19.
