Dan Gosling has been a solid presence in the Cherries squad since joining the club in the summer of 2014.

Midfielder Gosling came through the ranks at Plymouth Argyle after being spotted, aged 12, playing for local club Brixham United.

In December 2006, aged 16 and 310 days, he made his debut for the Pilgrims, consequently becoming the fourth youngest player to turn out for the club.

After his versatility impressed managed Ian Holloway, he was soon promoted from the reserve team squad and made 22 league appearances before being snapped up by Everton in January 2008.

However, he was made to wait until December for his debut, playing in a 1-0 victory against Middlesbrough.

Two days later, Gosling scored his first goal for the Toffees as they brushed aside Sunderland 3-0 at Goodison Park.

In February the following year, Gosling’s goal in the FA Cup fourth round against Liverpool was voted Everton’s goal of the season by fans and he subsequently went on to play in the final against Chelsea, coming on as a second-half substitute.

In July 2010, Gosling made the move to Newcastle in pursuit of regular first-team football.

However, he endured a tough spell with the Magpies which was hampered by injury, making just 24 league appearances before being loaned to Blackpool during the 2013/14 season.

That summer, the former England under-21 international moved back south, signing for the Cherries ahead of their Championship-winning season.

He played 24 times and scored five goals in five League Cup games as the Cherries reached the quarter-final for the first time in their history.

During the 2015/16 campaign, Gosling played 34 times in the Premier League and popped up with goals against Sunderland, Swansea and Norwich.

Gosling carried his form for the Cherries into the following season, netting against Sunderland as well as in the 6-1 victory over Hull City, as the club registered its highest finishing position in the top flight (ninth).

In 2017/18, Gosling started the season with a bench role but, after impressing from the off in the close-run defeat at Old Trafford in December, he kept his place and soon formed a strong midfield partnership with Lewis Cook that would power the Cherries through their impressive new year run that laid the foundation for a fourth straight Premier League season.

Gosling made a great start to 2018/19, only to sustain a knee injury during the Cherries' 2-1 defeat by Arsenal at the end of November.

He had surgery and spent six weeks on the sidelines before returning to action during the memorable 3-3 draw with Watford in early January 2019.
