On returning to AFC Bournemouth as a player…

When I left in January I didn’t think I’d be back straight away to be fair. I went back to Chelsea hoping to play, but in the end I came back and I’m really pleased to be here.

On what made him choose the Cherries over other options…

Well, the club itself straight away when I came in made me feel at home, it’s the not biggest but straight away I felt part of something.

I think the way I was treated here before was really good, I really enjoyed it and I felt myself developing over the months I was last here.

I felt Eddie was making me a better player and I know the club, that’s what I needed at this stage of my career.

On being the club’s record signing…

Of course people will maybe look at me differently because the club have spent money on me but regardless, I always put pressure on myself anyway. It feels the same, I put pressure on myself to play well and improve so It’s no different really.

On his lack of playing time upon returning to Chelsea…

Every footballer wants to play but I know it was going to be difficult to get in a winning team with world class players. When I played I felt I did OK, in training

I developed a lot and felt myself growing with world class players ever day. I learnt a lot but of course I wanted to play.

On the new signings and whether the club can better last season’s finish…

The club has made lots of good signings on top of a squad that is already good before.

The 9th place finish was great but of course we want to achieve better, the manager wants to achieve more and I can’t wait to be a permanent part of it. Hopefully we’ll do our best!
