Chris Kavanagh has been appointed as referee as AFC Bournemouth make their Boxing Day trip to play Tottenham Hotspur.

Across his 27-match Premier League career, Manchester-born Kavanagh has shown red cards on just three occasions, as well as dishing out 92 yellow cards.

One of the younger referees among the Select Group 1 pool of elite officials, Kavanagh spent several seasons refereeing in the EFL before making the step up to the top flight, and he was the fourth official for the League One play-off final in 2016/17 as Scunthorpe United took on Millwall.

Kavanagh will be assisted by Daniel Cook and Sian Massey-Ellis in the capital, with Gavin Ward acting as the match's fourth official.
