Kevin Friend will be the man in the middle during Saturday’s opening Premier League game of the season at Vitality Stadium.

The Cherries host Cardiff in a 3pm kick-off, as Eddie Howe’s side begin their fourth season in the Premier League.

Coincidently, Friend was in charge during the Cherries’ last competitive game at Vitality Stadium, as Swansea City were defeated 1-0 thanks to a Ryan Fraser goal.

The referee took charge of two other Cherries fixtures last season, one being the 2-1 victory over Arsenal and the other the 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

On Saturday, Friend will be assisted by Matthew Wilkes and Mark Scholes, with Graham Scott the fourth official.
