Ake scores his first international goal

Nathan Ake made AFC Bournemouth history by becoming the first ever active Cherries player to score a senior goal for Holland.

The 23-year-old scored his first international goal for Holland in a 1-1 friendly draw with Italy in Turin.

Ake was called upon from the bench for Ronald Koeman's side when they were 1-0 down thanks to former West Ham striker Simone Zaza's finish.

He replaced fellow defender - Matthijs De Ligt of Ajax - with 19 minutes remaining, but his impact was made at the other end of the pitch.

With two minutes to play, Feyenoord's Steven Berghuis sent in a cross which Ake anticipated well and nodded into the bottom corner.

He wheeled away in delight having scored Holland's first goal against Italy on Italian soil since 1928.

It was former Manchester City manager's Roberto Mancini's third match in charge of the Italians after a victory against World Cup finalists Saudi Arabia and a defeat to France.
