AFC Bournemouth
AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust are to launch the Premier League Enterprise Challenge at Vitality Stadium later today.
This will be the second year that the club have been involved in the challenge, with 20 pupils from Avonbourne College and Harewood College taking part last year.
A team of five girls from Avonbourne College won the club’s heat and presented their findings to AFC Bournemouth Chairman Jeff Mostyn and Head of Community Steve Cuss.
They went on to have one-to-one workshops with the AFC Bournemouth Commercial and Branding departments, as they prepared their business idea to present to the Premier League play-off judges at the Emirates.
This year, Avonbourne and Harewood College are back, but now they will be competing against pupils from The Grange School, Poole High School and The Bourne Academy.
In total 25 students, five from each school, will be taking part in the Premier League Enterprise Challenge.
They will start their business idea preparations at Vitality Stadium, before partaking in lessons at their school to prepare for the club heat that takes place at Vitality Stadium on Tuesday 12th December.
Ahead of the event, AFC Bournemouth’s Head of Community Steve Cuss shared his thoughts on the occasion.
“The Premier League Enterprise Challenge provides students with the opportunities to look at the business side of a football club,” he said.
“We are delighted to be working with five schools on this seasons initiative and look forward to finding an AFC Bournemouth representative for the regional final.”
