AFC Bournemouth were 7-1 winners in the Southern Region Women’s Football League on Sunday.

A trip to Lapstone was on the cards, with Southampton Women’s Reserves the hosts.

Chloe Tape and Anastasia Hnatiw both bagged braces, with Aimee-Rose Collier, Rosie Eden and Emma Davis also on target. 

The Cherries started strongly, but it was their counterparts who took the lead with a well struck shot inside the opening five minutes.

However, it didn’t take long for the visitors to pull one back, with Eden scooping a ball over the Southampton defence for Tape, who finished well to the right of the ‘keeper.

As the half continued, Hnatiw, Tape and Jade Hockey all had good chances for the Cherries, whilst Hannah Bennett hit the crossbar.

After the interval, it was Southampton who had the first chance, after a cross from the left was almost headed home.

But, it was Steve Davies’ side who took control of the game on the 60-minute mark with four goals in ten minutes.

Firstly, Tape’s corner fell to Hnatiw, who slotted home for her first of the game, whilst Eden soon came in from the left and hit an unbeatable shot past the ‘keeper for 3-1.

Moments later, after rounding the ‘keeper, Tape unselfishly squared for Collier who tapped in for the Cherries’ fourth.

Collier was again involved, this time with a powerful run down the right to cross for Eden, who then fed Tape for her second of the game.

With a little under 20 minutes remaining, Sian Tilly saw her penalty saved, before Davis found the net from the edge of the box for the Cherries’ sixth.

And the visitors weren’t quite done yet, as Bennett hit the bar once more, before the ball fell kindly in the box and Hnatiw took advantage.
