The Cherries took the lead early on, with Aimee-Rose Collier netting eight minutes in.

It wasn’t long before the visitors doubled their lead, as Anastasia Hnatiw latched onto a loose ball from Emma Davies’ corner.

There was still time before the break for Cherries midfielder Chloe Tape to put her side three up, before taking another chance which made it four.

Following the interval, the south coast outfit continued where they left off and it was Tape who was on hand to complete her hat-trick with a lovely finish.

The action didn’t stop there, however, as an injury to Cherries ‘keeper Kate Guthrie resulted in a lengthy pause in play.

Luckily for the visitors, the 23-year-old was able to continue but from the resultant dropped ball, the hosts controversially knocked it beyond Guthrie via Laura Gammon to pull one back.

Moments later, Royal Wootton Bassett Town reduced the deficit further with another strike, this time from Hayley Huckin, leaving the score at 5-2.

Nevertheless, it was the Cherries who continued to press forward and create more chances, with shots cleared off the line in the dying stages.

Following the win, Women's coach Steve Davies expressed his delight at being through to the next round of the cup.

“It was a really good performance from the girls,” he said.

“I feel very comfortable with the squad that I have and I’m confident that we’ll be going into the league campaign fully prepared.”

The Cherries, who play their opening league fixture this Sunday, will face Torquay United at Plainmoor in the next round of the FA Cup on Sunday 17 September.
