U18s Lose at the last to Wolves

AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

The Cherries youth team is squeezed out at the last in their pre-season friendly with Wolves.

The Cherries had been two goals up in the game thanks to goals from Jake Scrimshaw and Christian Saydee, only for Wolves to roar back in the pre-season friendly.

The match was played at Canford School, having initially been scheduled to take place at Canford Park Arena.

Under-18s manager Alan Connell gave his thoughts following the match: "I was really pleased with the first 60 minutes, we had more of the ball than in our previous pre-season games and we were more controlled than we have been. During that period we could have scored more and taken the game away from Wolves.

"We knew the game wasn't done in the second half and that we needed to see it through, but we lost our rhythm and conceded goals we were not happy with, then they scored with the last kick of the game.

"The game was pleasing in many ways, but the players need to understand what they have to do to progress at this football club - and that is what we will be working towards."

The Cherries youth team are next in action against another Category One side away at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
