Big win for the under-18s against Cheltenham Town in their second league match of the campaign.
Nnamdi Ofoborh scored a brace while Ash Pope, Jake Scrimshaw and Brennan Camp also got their names on the scoresheet.
The game was just 1-0 in the Cherries’ favour at half time, with manager Alan Connell revealing that his side took on his half-time instructions to push forwards and gain their big result.
“It was as good as the scoreline suggested,” he said. “In the first half we had some really nice passages of play but lacked a little bit of composure in the final third and little bit of intensity in our play.
“We challenged them at half time to add that composure and intensity to what they were doing and also to be ruthless with and without the ball.
“The second half was really pleasing because we got a lot out of it and the players carried out what we spoke about. In the end it was a very dominating display with us not giving them any chances on goal – it’s another step in the right direction, with plenty more challenges ahead."
The Cherries are next in action this Friday, with supporters able to attend their game with Yeovil Town at Canford Arena, the game starting at 12pm.
“The form’s good, not just with the results, but the performances have generally been pleasing," said Connell of his side's latest chance to impress. "It’s about always wanting more and I’ve stressed that to the players about not just being happy that you’re doing okay, you have to want to be the best as an individual and as a team that you can be.
“Yeovil will be a different test so we’re looking forward to that. We’re a little bit stretched at the moment with some injuries so other players are getting opportunities so it’s important they come in and take them.”
