FULL TIME

A 3-1 defeat here for the lads, but a real gutsy effort in Manchester.
89'

Almost 4-1...

Mings does excellently again.

Ederson slammed a sublime pass over the top and substitute Riyad Mahrez latched onto it, took a touch in the area, but a great tackle from Mings prevents a goal.

Top stuff.

85'

Double sub...

Maybe with Tuesday in mind, Junior Stanislas and Lys Mousset are on for goalscorer Wilson and King.

84'

Good save Begovic!

Sane has done so well, he cut into his left and smashed a powerful effort which Begovic makes a top save to keep out!

It cannoned off his shoulder from close range!

78'

Unfortunate for us...

That may be game over despite us having some really good moments on the break.

Leroy Sane latched onto a brilliant pass by Silva - drilled in a low cross which allowed Gundogan to tap in from close range.

3-1 and it does seem that is all she wrote.

78'

GOAL for City.

Ilkay Gundogan scores.

73'

A good delivery...

Almost makes it level!

Brooks' first involvement is to take a corner and he swings it in with real pace and whip!

Steve Cook hurls himself at it and JUST misses it, before King miscues at the back post!

Close!

72'

First sub for us...

Fraser is the one to come off.

He's run himself into the ground to be fair to him, relentless effort as ever from Wee Man.

David Brooks comes on for him and it's a straight swap on the right-hand side.

Hopefully the young Welshman can make an impact in the final 20 minutes or so here!

67'

Almost 3-1...

Jesus does well po nthe left and he pulls back the ball into a great area - Fernandinho strides onto it and curls a low left-footer narrowly wide of the near post.

Not too far away that.

65'

We're on the back foot now...

We're defending quite solidly but City are now dominating proceedings.

They brought on Fabian Delph for Oleksandr Zinchenko just prior to the goal and he's made a difference from deep areas.

It's back to square one, we have to be patient and wait for our moments on the counter attack.

61'

We're still battling here...

57'

A goal for the hosts...

They're ahead.

Danilo drove forward and absolutely slammed a shot which forced Begovic to make a save, the ball fell kindly for Sterling to bundle in.

It's probably been coming to be fair in the last ten minutes as they have entered another gear.

56'

Sterling scores.

They've stepped up the tempo and Sterling taps in.
53'

A very very close shave there...

City's first real chance...

Raheem Sterling drives from deep into the area, beats three players and hits a low drive which deflects off Surman and onto the post to safety.

The shot looked tame but Surman's efforts to defend almost diverted it in - close!

Hopefully not the start of City dominating.

49'

That celebration!

Love it!

47'

Chance!!

That'sanother good one for us!

King gets in the area and shrugs off a challenge, he then dinks a really high cross to the back post which fools Ederson and Daniels JUST can't tap in at the back post!

If he was a yard ahead, he could've given us the lead! Unlucky but a great start to the half!

46'

Back underway!

Well, after a great end to the half we're back underway.

Hopefully more of the same - the task is still massive, but we've looked excellent!

Let's go!

HT

HALF TIME

A great performance!

Really, really good, for that last ten minutes we had the champions on the back foot in their own back yard!

After Bernardo Silva's opener, Callum Wilson equalised on the stroke of half time with a superb header.

We deserve it - we probably didn't want the half time whistle!

44'

A lovely goal!!!

We're the first team to break City down from open play since the 1st of December!

It is a great goal!!! After some superb play where we penned City in, the ball gets moved to Simon Francis out wide on the right and he cuts onto his left, and his cross is absolutely sensational to find Wilson in the middle!

He leaps high and it's an equally brilliant header into the corner past Ederson!

We deserve that - game on!!!

44'

GOALLLLLLLLLLL!

CALLUM WILSON!!!!!!!!!!

41'

Another chance!!

We get the ball back and Fraser pulls back an absolutely superb pass to King in the area!

He strides onto it and gets a great connection on it - but it is superbly blocked in the middle!

A great opening and we are creating now!

39'

Big chance for us!!!

Great play!!

Joshua King gets it wide left and whips in a superb ball to Wilson!

He wasn't able to get a touch for a tap in but Ederson had to get down low to tip it away!

Simon Francis ran onto it but instead of shooting in the area he opted to try a clever cut back! That is a good chance for us here!

30'

Half an hour played...

City are not cutting us apart, they're enjoying the ball but our shape is good, forcing them back rather than through us.

We're looking to nick the ball and get men up quickly to assist, we might be 1-0 down but by no means are we out of it.

We're working hard here to defend solidly and trying to get numbers up when we can.

25'

Still well in the game...

21'

A half decent opening for us...

A lovely passage of play between Tyrone Mings, Andrew Surman and Charlie Daniels gets Fraser in down the left-hand side behind Danilo and in a great area haring towards the box!

Fraser slipped slightly and couldn't put in an effective cross and it was well defended but we got in behind the City backline there with an excellent piece of play.

Positive!

16'

Silva opens the scoring...

A ball over the top meets Leroy Sane in the area but Asmir Begovic does so well to get a hand to it.

The ball falls for Silva in the area and Steve Cook unfortunately slips, giving Silva more of the goal to aim for and he dispatches it confidently.

Not the easiest chance to take, but we're a goal down.

12'

GOAL for City.

Bernardo Silva scores.

13'

We're doing well so far...

11'

A near miss...

Oleksandr Zinchenko slaps a ball into the box and it's a great delivery that's low and flat.

It's an inch away from the waiting Gabriel Jesus in the middle who looked set to get a touch to at least get it on target from six-yards.

A bit of a close shave for us. City's first real opening.

07'

The atmosphere...

It's almost as if City's fans are expectant, just waiting to be entertained.

There's been zero atmosphere in the ground as we confidently pass the ball and get men behind it when we lose it.

Not a bad start!

04'

Chance!!!

Very good chance for us!!

We work a short corner to perfection and Fraser slams in a low cross!

It's just behind Wilson who's waiting for a finish in the six-yard box! A very decent opening and a lovely set play - we're not on the back foot by any means here in the opening five minutes.

01'

We are underway...

In our white kit, Ryan Fraser gets us underway here at the Etihad.

Could we see a historic result here?

14:42

Head to head...

They don't look great to be fair!

Cityhave won the six previous Premier League games against us, scoring 21 and conceding just two.

We've never won a competitive game against them, and we've also conceded 13 times in our trips to the Etihad.

So, it's all to do, but you look at that City team without Aguero and with Zinchenko and Danilo as full backs and think, why can't we have a go!?

14:38

Pre-match interview time...

And it's the manager's turn!

As ever at a Premier League game, it's a contractually obliged interview prior to the game.

The manager isn't flustered, he knows the size of the task but he is as eager to win as ever.

"We go into every game believing we can win but we also know that to do so today we will have to be at out very best.

"We have a game plan and we believe in the players to deliver that plan."

14:01

As for City...

14:01

In case you weren't aware...

We're in white!

Our previous results in white this season...

West Ham United 1-2 AFC Bournemouth

Watford 0-4 AFC Bournemouth

Are we clutching at straws here to say it's a lucky kit!?

14:00

The team is in!!

It's a first Premier League start of the season for Tyrone Mings - it's his first league game since Burnley on the last day of last season.

Elsewhere, Dan Gosling doesn't make it so Andrew Surman is in the starting XI alongside Lewis Cook.

We think it's a back five, but we'll have to get proper confirmation on that.

Cherries XI: Begovic; Francis, S Cook, Ake, Mings, Daniels; L Cook, Surman; King, Fraser, Wilson.

13:36

Raheem Sterling...

Let's hope his name isn't on the team sheet when it's announced at 2pm!

The England star has has scored in all five of his top flight games against us, scoring seven goals in total.

Sterling can become the first player in Premier League history to score in his first six appearances against a particular club.

Let's hope that's a run that ends today!

13:15

Team news...

Is just under 45 minutes away.

The manager has one big injury concern and that's Dan Gosling, who has a knock but has travelled with the squad.

Jefferson Lerma is also suspended for the game as he picked up his fifth yellow card of the season against Arsenal.

As for City, Kevin de Bruyne and Benjamin Mendy remain sidelined.

Team news straight from the dressing rooms at 2pm.

12:41

But there is a stat that points in our favour...

Manchester City are the champions.

But in every single Premier League season, the Cherries have beaten the reigning champions.

It was Chelsea in 2015/16, Leicester City in 2016/17 and Chelsea again in 2017/18 - that second Chelsea win was the 3-0 drubbing.

So, can we make it four years on the trot!?

12:35

An uphill task...

We're all aware of City's quality, but the stats that back up their form are well, quite frankly, unfair!

The champions have conceded just one Premier League goal from open play this season, scored by DeAndre Yedlin of Newcastle wayyyyy back on the 1st of September.

As a result, they're unbeaten in their last 19 league games, conceding just EIGHT during this run.

ON TOP of that, they are also undefeated in their last 35 league matches which have kicked off at 3pm on a Saturday - 31 of those have been wins.

Unbelievable. But all good records must come to an end!!

12:30

Welcome!

A daunting task today, but the players are well up for the battle ahead against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium this afternoon!

It's a wet and windy one here in Manchester but we'll be battling the conditions to bring you live audio commentary, as well as live blog updates here all for free.
