FULL TIME

Unfortunately, we couldn't follow Wednesday's win with a victory here.

A goal early on each half from Bobby Reid was enough to give Cardiff the win alongside their excellent defensive work.

Not our day and one we'll try and forget quickly.

90'

Save by Boruc...

A punt up the field is met by substitute Kenneth Zohore, he drives towards goals and arrows a left-footed effort at the near post and Boruc makes an excellent stop.

Cardiff have a corner and surely will play the remaining seconds down now.

90'

Four minutes added time...

Unfortunately it doesn't look like it will be our day.

We'll need a miracle to score twice I'm afraid due to Cardiff's excellent defensive shape.

85'

Into the final five...

As I keep saying (I sound like a broken record) we are absolutely dominating the play, but Cardiff have sat men behind the ball to thwart us and frustrate us.

It's very similar to our performance against Wolves away, they let us have the ball but got so many bodies behind the ball.

80'

Ten minutes to go...

78'

So close!!!

UNLUCKY!

Ibe whips in a superb cross from the left and Ake is there!

He rises highest but his superb header is JUST past the post! So close!

76'

15 minutes to play...

Cardiff are just seeing the game out here.

We have all the ball but we're really struggling in that key moment with the final ball.

We just can't seem to create THAT really good opening...

75'

Smith booked...

We create a decent opening after Ibe and Mousset combine well.

Ibe threads a ball in front of Smith in the area, he takes a touch and loses the ball.

He tries to win it back and fouls Manga - yellow card.

69'

Jefferson Lerma is back from injury...

He comes on for Gosling in our final substitution.

It's the same system, so it's a straight swap in the heart of midfield.

67'

Better!

Good work on the left!

King shifts over there and gets the ball, before putting in a dangerous cross which Bamba has to get across to clear!

Better from us, still plenty of time here!!

63'

Keep going lads!!

62'

Sol Bamba has to be careful!

That's his second clusmy tackle after being booked!

Arguably that should be enough for a yellow card, but he gets a really stern talking to from referee John Moss.

The lads should be getting at him because he's walking the thinnest of tightropes now.

60'

Double sub for us...

Jordon Ibe and Lys Mousset are now on to hopefully change the game.

Go and take your chance lads!

They come on for Stanislas and Solanke.

55'

Almost a way through...

Clyne and Stanislas combine on the right and the latter gets into the penalty area!

Ecuele Manga reads the situation really well though and gets across to swiftly clear with Stanislas in a really dangerous position in front of goal.

A good moment for us!

49'

First bookings of the day...

Sol Bamba.

Really clumsy tackle on King, definite yellow.

Seconds after, Murphy races down the left and Clyne slides in - another definite yellow.

Again, we're enjoying all the ball as Cardiff look to get men forward quickly on the counter.

48'

Over...

Fraser blasts one after more good work from Solanke - he's 20-yards out and it's on the volley - but it's just over.

It's going to be tough to break down this Cardiff defence but we definitely have the ability. Come on lads!

46'

2-0 Cardiff...

17 seconds into the half and we're 2-0 down.

Straight from kick off, Reid gets the ball clean through on goal - he could be offside - but he takes it round Boruc to slot in.

Not the start we wanted at all...

45'

Back again...

A swift 15 minute break, as Reid gets us back underway here.

A big half required from our lads here, let's go!

HT

HALF TIME

Well, that's a very frustrating half.

Cardiff have thwarted us to near perfection as they sit back very deep and look for bits on the break.

A penalty given away from Steve Cook gave Bobby Reid the chance to score and he dispatched it, giving us a big job to do in this second half.

A big half to come, we'll need something special to break this extremely stubborn team down.

41'

Great defending...

Adam Smith - superb.

Josh Murphy swung in a sensational cross from the left-hand side, it looks set to reach Calum Paterson at the back post - but for Smith to get a toe to the ball.

Excellent defending to keep it 1-0.

38'

A frustrating half for us so far...

35'

Good chance for Cardiff...

They've dug in and almost got a second.

Again, a counter attack from them sees them cause problems.

Niasse again gets down the right channel and drives into the area he opts not to shoot - he's at angle but could go across the keeper.

He tries to square it and it's not near Murphy - but Niasse is causing problems against us again.

29'

Pushing for an equaliser...

27'

From the resulting corner...

Etheridge in top form again!

A lovely short corner combination from Fraser and Stanislas sees Fraser in space in the box!

He smashes a low cross into the six-yard box and Etheridge is there to get his foot to it to get it away! Could be a crucial foot to the ball!

26'

OFF THE BAR!!

ANDREW SURMAN GOES SO CLOSE!

Great play by King!

He turned just inside their half and drove at the Bluebirds defence, squaring to Surman!

He hit it magnificently from 20-yards, a curler which Neil Etheridge makes an absolutely superb save to tip onto the bar.

Brilliant stop, so close!!

25'

Tough to break down...

At the moment, this is a Cardiff out of possession training drill, we have the ball but cannot break down their solid backline.

We're dominating the ball though, it may take a quick transition or a moment of magic to break down this stubborn defence.

19'

Just wide!!

Another great attack!

Dominic Solanke and Fraser combine on the left-hand side, with the frontman showing good hold up play to thread Fraser into a bit of room.

He cuts onto his right and curls a lovely effort narrowly wide of the far post!

Unlucky, we look settled now...

17'

Better from us!

We have the hosts on the back foot now.

A lovely patient attack sees Adam Smith's cross, low in the six-yard box, hacked away by Bruno Ecuele Manga.

We've wrestled control back as Cardiff have 11 men defending the ball.

13'

Good save by Boruc...

Almost 2-0.

We lose the ball high up the pitch and one long ball down the line hurts us.

Callum Paterson smashes one to Niasse and he squared to the unmarked Josh Murphy in the box.

Fortunately, Boruc was swift off his line to stop Murphy from tapping in.

A close shave...

10'

Cardiff on top...

They've just countered on us really well, Niasse has been a handful so far.

A succession of long balls and crosses have been well defended by us so far, we all know that's Cardiff's effective game plan.

Still plenty of time for us though.

03'

GOAL to Cardiff.

Reid scores.

It was such a weird penalty that Steve Cook gave away, his hand was very high it was stone wall.

Reid put his penalty straight down the middle to open the scoring.

A poor start here...

02'

PENALTY to Cardiff...

It looks like for a Cook handball...

01'

Big save by Boruc!

That could be crucial!

A long punt up the field gets Oumar Niasse in behind our defence...

He did look well offside up here but he was allowed to go all the way through!

But Artur Boruc did so well, he closed the angle down well and made a good low stop at the near post.

He's been in top form!

01'

We are underway...

After an impeccably observed minute's silence, Ryan Fraser gets us going here.

A good atmosphere in the ground, hopefully a good start to come from us.

17:27

A minute's moment of reflection...

Both sets of teams have come out of the tunnel now.

Andrew Surman and Sol Bamba have both laid a lovely bouquet of flowers on the half way line

There's a good reception, but now we'll have a minute's moment of reflection to think of Emiliano Sala and David Ibbotson.

17:18

The players have just finished the warm ups...

It's almost time!

17:14

The gaffer has spoken...

His pre-match duties have just been completed.

As ever, a classy interview with the manager...

"Being without David is a big blow but what I'm really looking forward to seeing is what Dominic can bring to the team today.

"It is an emotional day however, we are here to pay respects to Emiliano, David and their families."

17:01

Head to head...

The records look good for us!

We're unbeaten in the past four meetings, winning three and getting a total aggregate score of 11-4!

We've also been unbeaten in five of the last games in Cardiff, drawing three and winning two.

The Bluebirds' last win against us was back when Eddie Howe was playing! He played in the February 2002 Cardiff City win.

16:44

Hopefully a big impact from this man!

16:40

One to watch...

Signed on loan from Everton, Oumar Niasse is being given the responsibility today as Cardiff#s main souce of goals.

He's played three times and hasn't scored yet, but the last time he came up against us playing at home for his team, it was a bad afternoon.

Niasse came on as a second-half sub for Everton last season and scored twice to turn the game around when we lost 2-1 at Goodison Park.

Our back four is in good form but will have to be alert to keep him quiet.

16:30

TEAM NEWS...

Dominic Solanke... IN!

He replaces David Brooks in our only change to the starting XI from Wednesday, a great chance for him to show what he's made of!

Elsewhere, Jefferson Lerma is on the bench - he's back after missing out on the squad against Chelsea.

Come on lads!

Cherries XI: Boruc; Clyne, S Cook, Ake, Smith; Stanislas, Gosling, Surman, Fraser; Solanke, King.

16:14

A huge day for this man...

Steve Cook could be set to make his 300th Cherries appearance today.

A really understated achievement for one of our understated players - and a top guy too.

He's on pre-match media duties today, and had this to say...

“We haven’t won three games on the bounce for a long time but that’s what we’re looking for today. It’s going to be an emotional day - we send our love and support to Emiliano, David, their families and loved ones.”

15:58

Cardiff's form...

...hasn't been great.

They haven't won in their last five games, losing four of them and scoring just once.

In their last seven fixtures, they have only scored twice.

Their last Premier League win was eight games ago, the away win at Leicester on the 29th of December.

But they do fare better at home, with 14 of their 19 points so far taken at Cardiff City Stadium.

15:48

Hoping for good news...

Obviously the disappearance of Emiliano Sala has been sad for us to see from afar and we are all praying for any good news.

Us in the press box and all of our players / staff will be wearing daffodils to show our support.

It's also great to see that Cardiff staff are offering daffodils to fans who haven't got any - there should also be a lovely mosaic before the game as the yellow placards are ready in the seats in the home end.

Let's continue to pray for some good news on Sala and pilot David Ibbotson.

15:38

A man in form...

With Callum Wilson injured, a lot of pundits have called for Joshua King to step up.

And he certainly has!

He's been involved in four of our last five league goals, scoring three and setting up one.

The Norwegian was instrumental in our midweek win over Chelsea with another tireless display. In front of the TV cameras, the eyes of the world will be on him for another big display.

(With the form he's in, we're sure he hit the target in the photo too!)

15:24

No Brooksy...

After his display on Wednesday against Chelsea, that's bad news for us.

It was confirmed yesterday evening that David Brooks would miss around a month due to an ankle injury.

A goal and assist against the Blues in midweek made the world pay attention, but in his home nation, he'll be absent having not travelled with the team.

But we've got plenty of talent that can come in for the Welsh international today, with the likes of Jordon Ibe, Lys Mousset and Dominic Solanke likely to be in contention to take his place.

Team news is announced here first at 2pm.
